"Jesus must become more important, while I become less important. "
John 3:30 Contemporary English Version (CEV)
Today at church we were singing a song that says "More of You and less of me, and more of You and less of me..." So I got the idea for this poster which I wanted to make before, but I didn't have any ideas or inspiration until today!
I disagree with you, I completely depend on God, Jesus said: "Without me you can do nothing", also you can't depend on yourself and the people around only because people fail, God never fails
so am right. you do have low self-esteem. when we fail. we learn, we grow. you need to fail to grow. we need to embrace the failure otherwise we do not grow. jesus lied. he's been gone for 2000 years and we've done everything but nothing. words like fail and success to a god are irrelevant. a god is time, space, what can and will be, you, me and every living thing gone, here and coming. it's existence is as much relevant as it irrelevant. so forget about it and put us humans on top for a bit.
i have to say this... how do you know the bible is really written by god? (because it says it inside the book?) you'll probably tell me that it's because you can feel it. right? well what about all the other religions? they say they can feel something smiler. did god write them too? how many religions did god make? why does god need us to worship 'him'? also can i ask what your definition of god is? i'm interested in the christian point of view. it's very very different from mine.
Just because you said that you are interested in the christian point of view I wrote this extensive reply, I hope you read it It is right, also the Bible says that is inspired by God, but because those resaons don't satisfy you I'm going to give you 4 more resons of why it is the word of God: *Its unity- the Bible was written by more than 40 different persons in a 1500 years period, contains 66 books and it contains the same message without contradictions *Archaeological evidence- you can look it up in google *Scientific evidence- the Bible mentions thousands of years before it was discovered: the air pressure, the shape of the earth, that in its core there is fire, etc. *Profecy- there are many profecies in the Bible, and God revealed stuff that was going to happen in the future and it happened, for example: it predicted the 4 most important empires, how they were going to rise and fall, we have also the more than 400 profecies about Jesus and the odds for the fulfillment of those profecies in one person is practically zero, and if you want a recent one there is the one about of the rebirth of Israel.
God didn't create religions, man did, the word religion comes from the latin religare which means "to bind or connect again" becase man can't get to God because of sin, so man created religions to try to get to God by a series of rituals, but God wants a relationship with us, not a religion or rituals, that is why God sent Jesus to die for us and forgive our sins so we can get to God.
God don't "need" our worship, He has millions of angels who worship Him, I worship Him because He is worthy and it is something spontaneus that flows from me, God don't depend on me, I depend on Him.
Last but definitely not lest God's definition of Himself, there are many Bible verses about God. God is the creator of everything, He is love, just, holy wise, invisible, one, eternal, invisible, merciful, forgiving, incomprehensible, perfect, everywhere, all powerful, doesn't change, unequaled, sovereign, hates sin, infinite, and He loves you
WHY!?!?!
this sounds bad for your self-esteem
you don't need god
you can and should depend on yourself and the people around you.
do you agree?
when we fail. we learn, we grow.
you need to fail to grow.
we need to embrace the failure otherwise we do not grow.
